SMITH, Mary Ellen - Passed away peacefully on September 14, 2018, in Stoney Creek, Ontario, with family by her side.
She was born in Grates Cove Newfoundland on July 10, 1930 to Leo and Minnie Norris.
She was predecease by her husband Stanley Vincent Smith.
She will be missed by her daughters, Elaine Smith and Deborah Smith, her son-in-laws Richard Young and Mark North, her grandchildren Lee and Dane North and many others.
Mary moved from Grates Cove to Toronto when she was a young lady. She worked in Toronto at a factory and enjoyed roller skating in her free time. She met Stanley at the roller rink in Toronto, Ontario.
After they married in September of 1951, Mary became a homemaker and mother. Mary enjoyed knitting, bingo, playing cards and going up to the cottage in Powassa, Ontario.
After Stanley passed away in 2016, Mary moved to Glynnnwood retirement home in Thornhill, Ontario. She lived there until June 2018 when she became ill. She lived in Stoney Creek, Ontario for the remainder of her life being taken care of by family.
There will not be a service.
