Wheeler KenWHEELER, Kenneth Alan 'Ken' - Peacefully, at Toronto on September 15, 2018.

Beloved husband of the late Dorothy, father of William, Margot, Donna and John.

Born in Toronto, Ken grew up in Long Branch, which was then an isolated community on the Lakeshore West.

After graduating from engineering at Queen's University, and achieving his P.Eng., Ken worked in the electrical utility industry and spent most of career at Toronto Hydro, retiring as manager of Stations Construction.

As a family man, Ken was a steadfast husband, father, and support to his extended family. He enjoyed his work, but also summers at the family cottage, companionship of his dogs and participation in his community.

Grandchildren were his great joy in his life, and followed keenly the achievements of Myles, Renee, Kara, Cameron, Malcolm and Liam. He is survived by his sister Bernice.

Having grown up in the Great Depression, he imparted the virtues of thrift, hard work and resiliency. As a manager at Toronto Hydro, he managed a department of over 500 people, and always sought to achieve the best result for all concerned.

Thanks to the staff of Peterborough Regional Health Centre and Dorothy Ley Hospice for their assistance and care, to Martha Alphonse his home care provider, and to his friends and neighbours for his porch chats.

Visitations will be held at G.H. Hogle Funeral Home, Etobicoke, on Wednesday 6-8 p.m. and Thursday 2-5 p.m.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 21st at 1 p.m. at Christ Church St. James Anglican Church 194 Park Lawn Rd. Etobicoke.

Flowers or donations to the above charities will be welcome.
