Anastaspoulos EddieANASTASOPOULOS, Andre 'Eddie' - It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that Andreas Anastasopoulos of Toronto, Ontario died peacefully on Saturday September 15, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his earthly guardian angel and wife of 57 years Ekaterini (Kay) Anastasopoulos.

Eddie was born to the late George Anastasopoulos and Helen Tsarouhas on February 20, 1932 in the village of Paleopanagia, Laconia, Greece. At the age of 18, he served in the Greek Army for several years in the Sniper Operations Unit.

He was so proud to come to Canada/ U.S. where he was given freedom and opportunities that his parents did not have. He was a hardworking successful businessman who worked hard all his life to provide for his family.

Throughout his life he loved to travel and there was no place he wouldn’t drive you to – Florida, New York, Atlantic City, wherever.

He was an avid ’67 Maple Leafs fan, a master Greek backgammon player and loved playing his bouzouki.

Eddie was the devoted father of his children – George, Helen (Tom) and Joanne (Manny) and loving Papou to Peter, Zackary and Andrew.

Also the loving brother to Tasia (Kosta – d), Afrodite (Costa), the late Panagiota (Fonda – d);, dearest friend and brother in law George (Stella-d) and the late Loukas (Athina – d) and the fun and loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 from 6 pm to 9pm at the Highland Funeral Home, Scarborough
Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 11 am at St. John's Greek Orthodox Church, 1385 Warden Avenue, Scarborough at 11am. Burial at Scarborough
