GLASSEY, David Nesbitt - (May 21, 1936 - September 18, 2018) -
After a short battle with cancer, David fell asleep in Jesus at the age of 82 in Toronto, Ontario.
He was predeceased by his parents Dr. David Glassey and Anne Nesbitt-Glassey and his brother Jeremy.
A lifelong learner if there ever was one, David studied first at UTS and then Queen's University followed by post-graduate studies at Michigan Tech. A geologist by training, David spent many years working in the mining industry in the Canadian north. He specialized in mineral sampling and mining economics.
There was not a subject in the arts or sciences which David could not wax eloquent. He spend his days studying from textbooks, exploring libraries, taking courses, all the while making meticulous and artful notes with the skill of a trained scribe and draftsman.
David was a follower of the Lord Jesus and had no problem integrating his faith in God with his knowledge of the cosmos. He saw himself as a sheep under the care of the Good Shepherd.
He is now resting in the arms of Him who loved him and gave His life for him.
All are welcome to attend a Memorial of his life celebrated with stories and recollections followed by refreshments to be held at Danforth Gospel Hall, 2237 Danforth Ave., Toronto on Sunday, September 23rd at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: MSC Canada, 101 Amber Street, Unit 16 - Markham, ON L3R 3B2. Arrangements entrusted with Trull funeral home.
