Campion PeterCAMPION, Peter - Sadly, on the night of Wednesday, 19 September 2018, Peter Campion passed away at home in Toronto at age 76.

Born in Leicester in 1942 to parents Louis and Rose, Peter’s pioneering work as an executive with Marks and Spencer brought him to Canada in 1973 where he remained following his marriage to his beloved wife, Nan, and the birth of his much loved son, Andrew.

Peter led a remarkable life, and was known for his many skills and passions. A celebrated singer, he was a proud member of the Orpheus Choir of Toronto. An enthusiastic performer, he loved his time with the drama group at St. Clements Church as well as with the Cricket Club Players.

A skilled builder and carpenter, in his spare time, he built and renovated two homes in Toronto and a cottage in Honey Harbour, where he would watch the boats in the channel after a day of hard work.

British by birth, Peter became a proud Canadian and quickly took to the ice as part of the close-knit curling community at the Toronto Cricket, Skating, and Curling Club. Peter’s warmth, spirit, and humour moved all those who knew him.

Peter will be deeply missed by Nan, Andrew, his sister Fleur, brother-in-law Brian Danton, daughter-in-law Julie, and all of his extended family and many friends.

The visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, 26 September, and the funeral will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, 27 September. Both services will take place at St. Clements Church, 70 St. Clements Ave, Toronto.

Donations in Peter’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
