SCARANO, Michele Paolo (Mike) - December 10, 1922 – September 21, 2018
Reunited with his wife of 77 years, Anna, who left us July 16th, Mike passed away peacefully at the age of 95.
Survived by his children Rocco and Mario (Carol), grandchildren David (Laura), Adria, Amanda, Liisa (Brent), Alex (Victoria) and 5 great-grandchildren Nathan, Brianna, Jackson, Kathryn and Alexandra.
Predeceased by daughter-in-law Vivian.
Born in Monteleone Di Puglia, Italy, Mike came to Canada in 1952 and was joined by his wife and children in 1954. World War II Veteran, semi- professional gardener, proud Italian and loyal patriarch of the Scarano family.
The family would like to thank caregivers Cleofe and Matilda for their incredible help, Maria Emer for her unconditional support and Dr. Shawn Leung for his compassionate and respectful care of both Mike and Anna in their final days.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, September 24th at Highland Funeral Home, Markham Chapel, 10 Cachet Woods Court. Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 25th at Epiphany of Our Lord Parish, 3200 Pharmacy Ave., Scarborough. Private entombment to follow.
