Edwards StephenEDWARDS, Stephen Lawrence - (November 3, 1945October 6, 2018) 

Stephen Lawrence Edwards, 72, of Toronto, Ontario, succumbed to cancer on Saturday Oct 6, 2018 at Baycrest Hospital, surrounded by family and friends.

He was born in Georgetown, Guyana on Nov 3, 1945 to William Edwards and Eloise Gill. He moved to Toronto, Canada in the early seventies.

Stephen, also known as Steve is survived by sons Anthony Edwards, Michael Edwards; daughters Yvette Swearine, Lisa Edwards; brothers Rudolph Edwards, Gordon Edwards, Trevor Brazilio, Franklin (Frank) Edwards and Keith Edwards; sisters Cynthia Patricia Barrington, Mildred Joyce Ford, and Juanita Edwards; loving grandchildren Tinisha Granville, Stephanie Brown, Brinnell Granville, Tristan Aravena-Edwards, Patrick Granville, Lawrence Edwards, Michael Jr. Edwards, Kayanh Suero-Nguyen, Raven Edwards-Dowdall, Tatyana Edwards, Malik Edwards, Demetrius Edwards; great-grandchildren Nyah Granville, Sarai Brown, Kaleb Granville, and Malik Brown and an abundance of adoring nieces, nephews and extended family.

Steve was a loving father, uncle, grandfather, and friend to everyone. Steve enjoyed cars a lot. Driving them, admiring them, but most of all fixing them. He was a mechanic for many many years. He spent his free time taking pictures and filming videos as a hobby at first, but later it became his business. He also enjoyed watching movies, especially westerns, karate, and war flicks.

Steve was always there to help relatives, neighbors and friends with household projects, or whatever else people needed him for.

A special thank you to the people at Baycrest Hospital for their care and support during his final days. Also, the children would like to extend their sincerest gratitude towards Franklin and Julia Edwards, Jennifer Kyte, Karol Richards, Gordon Edwards, Keith and Parlo Edwards, Enid Singh, Pastor Jeune, Sis Dell and Duncan, Raphael Francis, To Nguyen, Antonella Rose, Diana Baptiste, Bro Illich and Evangelist Princess for all their help during this difficult time.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Jerrett Funeral Home (6191 Yonge St.) South of Steeles Ave., Toronto on Friday Oct 12th.

Funeral services for Steve will be at Destiny and Dominion Word Ministries (40 Colville Rd.) in North York on Saturday Oct 13th from 9:30 to 11:30 am. Stephen will be laid to rest at the Beechwood Cemetery (7241 Jane St.) in Vaughan, Ontario.

Memorial donations may be made to Baycrest Hospital at the funeral home. Flowers may be sent directly to the funeral home, also.
