BOND, Donald Edwin - April 8, 1958 - October 5, 2018 - Resident of Stouffville, Ontario. After a courageous battle with cancer, Donny passed away peacefully at home, surrounded at his bedside by his loving family. Supported by his palliative care team.
He will be adoringly remembered by his wife Wendy Bond of 34 years, together for 40 years. His two beloved sons, Donald (Ruth) and Matthew (Sandy).
Survived by his father William Bond and mother Beulah Bond, his brother William (Danny) Bond (Louise), sisters Sharon Bond, Kim Barry (Dave), Laurie Lowery (Brian). Predeceased by his late brother Ronny Bond.
Donny was born and raised in Toronto and was one of 6 children.
He had 3 godchildren, Bruce, Christopher and Dakota.
He had many nieces and nephews and also some great-nephews and great-nieces.
He was like a son to the Late Roy and Alice Hall and a great brother -in-law to the Hall clan. He had many extended family, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Donny loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, bon fires, hiking, and travelling. He had a love of classic cars and artwork and was previously involved in classic car clubs. Donny loved to have fun with his family and close friends and loved to joke around with people and sometimes scare them. Donny touched the lives of many as he had the gift to talk to anyone anywhere. He had a huge heart, he was generous, funny, compassionate and put the needs of others before himself. He was one of a kind and will be missed dearly by everyone who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Friday October 12th, 2018 from 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm followed by a reception from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, Markham, Ontario.
The family requests all donations to be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society. Special thanks to Southlake Hospital in Newmarket and Markham Stouffville Palliative Care Team (Dr. Andrew Patterson and team of nurses) who provided wonderful care for Donny in the hospital and at home with his wife.
