Ruby StephenRUBY, Stephen - It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of Stephen Ruby on October 9, 2018 at the too-young age of 75, after a short but brave battle with pancreatic cancer.

Predeceased by his parents Harry and Sara Ruby and his brother Eric Ruby.

Stephen leaves behind his devoted wife of 51 years, Ilana, and his sons Peter (Stephanie), Shawn (Tammy) and Jonathan (Beth).

He will also be missed by his seven grandchildren, Eliana, Keren, Noam, Maya, Benjamin, Sam and Charlotte, all of whom made him exceedingly proud.

Cherished brother and brother-in-law of Marion and Hymie Tannenbaum, Linda Ruby, Sheila Weinberg and the late Jerry Weinberg.

Stephen was also a pillar in the lives of his many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He will be missed by his special Aunt Miriam.

Family was Stephen's priority in life and his friendships, often many decades long, further enriched his days.

In addition, he founded Jonar Systems in 1986 and provided leadership to his customers and staff whkeo valued his wisdom and no-nonsense approach.

The doctors, nurses and staff at the Jewish General Hospital have the family's deep gratitude for their care and compassion over the past two months.

Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, Montreal on Wednesday, October 10 at 2:00 p.m.  Shiva will be held at Stephen's home and you are most welcome to visit from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., except Saturday, with afternoon/evening services at 6:00 p.m.

Donations in Stephen's memory may be made to the "Stephen Ruby Memorial Fund in support of Pancreatic Cancer Research" c/o the Jewish General Hospital Foundation.
