FERNANDES, Maria  -  It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Maria on Tuesday October 9, 2018.

Maria is now re-united in heaven with her husband and love of her life Jaime.

Maria was the cherished mother of Jason and his wife Antonietta and Marlene and her husband Colin. She will forever be devoted Avó of Juliana, Emma, Massimo and William.

Maria will forever be remembered for being a proud, strong, outgoing and independent women. She was always full of life and always knew how to make an entrance. She was the type of person that once you met her, you would not forget. Unfortunately at a young age,  Maria was diagnosed with the early onset of Alzheimer’s changing her into the opposite person of which she truly was. She suffered a long and painful journey but is now at rest with her husband and family members in Heaven. Maria will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all her family and friends.

Friends will be received at the Scott funeral home 'Brampton' Chapel, (289 Main Street North) on Friday October 12, 2018 from 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday October 13, 2018 at 9:00 am in Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church (101 Malta Avenue, Brampton). Maria will be laid to rest beside her husband in Assumption Catholic Cemetery.

The family would like to thank everyone for their outpouring of support not only in the last few days but over the many years.

In loving memory of Maria, please consider making a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society. Hopefully one day, together we can discover a cure for this terrible disease.
