Joel SueJOEL, Susan 'Sue' - September 11, 1942- November 15, 2018. Sue lived a very full and happy life.

She was the 5th woman to graduate from the University of Toronto in civil engineering in 1965. Sue had a keen mind, a wonderful memory, and a wide knowledge of the world. Sue was an avid traveler, always up for an adventure. Her many trips included the Antarctic, driving the Silk Road, dog sledding in the Arctic, hiking in the cherry blossoms of Japan and canoeing the Yukon River.

She volunteered with the seniors program at Holy Blossom Temple, supported Syrian refugees, and her own Work North initiative.

She enjoyed chess, going to the cottage, cross country skiing, theatre, and her large group of friends.

She married Gene Stewart in 1971 and they had an active, happy life together for 35 years.

She will be remembered with love by her family, including brother Peter Joel and sister-in-law Joan Joel, her step daughter Janet Stewart (Bruce Wise), her nieces Kerry Joel (Blair Radbourne), Danielle Joel (Stefan Sandusky), great nieces Dominique, and Katla, great nephew Damien, and friends Tobi Asmoucha, Peter Rizzo and Maiko.

At Benjamin's Park Memorial Chapel, Toronto for service on Sunday, November 18, 2018, at 4:00 pm. Shiva visits following the funeral until 9 p.m. Shiva visits on Monday and Tuesday 2-4 pm, and 7-9 pm.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Holy Blossom Temple, 416-789-3291 or to a charity of your choice.
