MORRIS, Sydney L.  - Passed away suddenly at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket on November 6, 2018, at age 90.

Predeceased one year ago by his soulmate, Sheila (Mellor) Morris.

Loving dad of Shawn (Sydella) and Katrina (Mike).

Proud grandpa of Tyler (Dawn), Connor, Sierra and Heather.

Survived by sister Loretta and predeceased by brothers John and Winston.

Sid grew up in Toronto's Cabbagetown neighbourhood and attended Duke of York P.S., Central Tech H.S. and York University.

Sid and Sheila met at the Trident Club at Timothy Eaton Memorial Church and later became members of Walmer Road Baptist Church for many years.

Sid was a kind and generous man who made friends everywhere he went. He was well-read and had the ability to talk at length on any topic. He was an intelligent and thoughtful man with a photographic memory.

Sid enjoyed a long career as a financial advisor for over 50 years, working into his 80s.

Notably, he was named to the list of "Who's Who In Canadian Sport" after decades as a participant, coach and administrator in various sports organizations, he helped develop the Ontario Sports Lottery to finance amateur sport, he was awarded the Queens Jubilee Medal and inducted into the O5PBA Hall of Fame.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 25th from 4-7 p.m. at Newmarket Seniors' Meeting Place, 474 Davis Drive in Newmarket.

If desired, donations can be made in Sid's memory to the Southlake Foundation or the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
