Drury JohnDRURY, John (Jack) Joseph  - December 7, 1925 - November 14, 2018

The family of Jack Drury is sad to announce his passing on November 14, 2018.

Jack was predeceased by his wife of 68 years Mary by 33 days.

After Mary's passing Jack declined rapidly. He leaves behind his children D'Arcy, Rosemary and Mark (Susan), and his grandchildren Darcy, Sarah, Rhys, Alec and Liam.

He was predeceased by his son John.

Jack was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 7, 1925.

When he was four his parents returned to Moonstone, Ontario to raise their family. Growing up on a farm in rural Ontario during the Depression instilled very deep values of fairness, integrity and generosity in Jack that he demonstrated throughout his life.

He lived with his grandmother in Toronto while attending high school at De La Salle College and St. Michael's College School.  In 1949 Jack was working as a geologist in Northern Ontario when he met a beautiful school teacher named Mary Clemen. They were married a few months later.

Together they raised their family mostly in Toronto. Jack's work took him to Madrid, Spain, where the family lived for a year. They also lived in Kirkland Lake, Ontario for two years, where Jack was responsible for discovering and developing the Adams Mine. After spending a career prospecting he brought his skills to the Ontario Securities Commission.

Many thanks to the staff at Malton Village Long Term Care facility for the kindness and compassion they showed Jack in his last years.

A funeral will be held at the Mt. St. Louis Catholic Church, 4784 Line 4 North, Oro- Medonte Township, Simcoe, County on Saturday, November 24th at noon. A reception in the church hall will follow.
