FOSTER, Arthur Edward  -  It is with great sadness that the family of Arthur Foster announce his passing on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at the age of 91.

Predeceased by his beloved wife of 50 years, Lenore 'Bunny' (nee Hutchison), in 2005.

Loving father of Tracey and Brent (Lynn Chambers), loving grandfather of Christopher and Andrew.

He will be sadly missed by his brother-in-law, Dr. William Whittaker (the late Mary Joan), and by his many nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives, and long-time friend, Lynn Coach, all of whom he loved very much.

He graduated from the University of Toronto in 1949 with a B.A.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and a post graduate degree (1954) in Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario.
He spent most of his career in the engineering / construction industry on refinery & chemical, mining & metallurgical projects, much of which was in Business Development, which took him to most parts of Canada and many other areas of the world.

In his initial retirement, he was actively involved with the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, particularly in fund raising and the establishment of a Chapter Office in Mississauga, for which his efforts were acknowledged by the MS Society in 1989 by the award of a 'Citation of Merit for Fund Raising' and in 1994 by the award of a “Certificate of Appreciation”, as well as a City of Mississauga Civic Award of Appreciation in 1999.

He was also actively involved in the rebuilding of the family cottage on Georgian Bay near Penetang, which became the focal point of his life during the summer months. He loved fishing and boating on Georgian Bay, which he always stated was one of the most beautiful and least known areas of the world.

He was a member of the Mississaugua G.C.C. (1974), actively participating in golf and curling. He also enjoyed his membership in the Probus Club of Mississauga South and particularly the Investment Group and the Men’s Dinner Group in which he actively participated.

A very small private funeral has already been held. Internment will take place at a later date, at the Presbyterian Cemetery in Penetang, overlooking Georgian Bay, next to Bunny, and close to the cottage he loved so much.

The family wishes to extend many thanks to the doctors and staff at the Joseph Brant Hospital as well as the Oakville Trafalgar Hospital. Special thanks to the staff and Wellness Director at Hearthstone-By-The-Lake Retirement Home.

Memorial donations to the Parkinson Society of Canada or the Multiple Sclerosis Society – Mississauga Chapter, or any charity of your choice, would be greatly appreciated by his family.
