Baker AlfredBAKER, Wilfred Albert - Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Scarborough Centenary Hospital in Toronto.

He was born on January 27, 1936 in Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica to Catherine Elizabeth Renton and Hubert Baker.

While living in Jamaica, Wilfred married Vervelyn and operated his own tailor shop (Willie’s Tailoring Est.) as they started their family.

In July 1972, he immigrated to Canada and attended George Brown College, after which he became an upholsterer and remained in this profession until his retirement.

Wilfred loved God and loved his family. He served as a dedicated usher and small group leader in his church and touched many lives with his acts of kindness.

He also loved to sing and enjoyed few things more than a hearty Jamaican meal. Although he had a sweet tooth, he was blessed with a slim physique throughout his life. He will be deeply missed.

Wilfred was predeceased by his beloved son, Alrick (Zora), and is survived by his wife, Vervelyn; sons, Ronald, Lyndon, Michael, Richard, Jeffrey; daughters, Lavern (Steve), Charm (Philip), Diana; grandchildren, Aaron-Mitchell, Ashley, Ebony-Renee, Quinn-Matrix, Mikayla "Mia"; and, many nieces and nephews.

Family, friends, and those whose lives Wilfred touched are invited to the Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, Markham, on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. to celebrate Wilfred’s life and homegoing. Viewing: Friday, November 30th at 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, December 1st at 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
