ACKEHURST, Ruth Elaine (nee West) - Passed away regrettably after a short illness on November 27th, 2018 at the age of 96.
Elaine was predeceased by her loving husband of 70 years, George Ackehurst, and their son, Robert.
She is survived by her son Bill and his wife Joan of Innisfil, and her much loved granddaughter, Allison.
Elaine was known for her love of dancing and music, as well as animals. A charitable soul, she gave to all she could and was a supporter of the Humane Society of Ontario and World Vision. A member of Holy Trinity Church, Elaine held a position among the ACW for many years. A loving aunt of many nieces and nephews and a beloved friend, Elaine will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank the IOOF of Barrie, Ontario for all the care and support that they provided Elaine over the past year.
Friends may call at The Marshall Funeral Home, Richmond Hill, on Friday November 30th from 11am until time of service at 1pm. Interment Elgin Mills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to a humane society of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
