Sabharwal KirpaSABHARWAL, Kirpa Ram  - Of TORONTO, CANADA, born May 20, 1927 in Nowshera, India to the late Sita Wanti Sabharwal and the late Des Raj Sabharwal, passed away at age 91, on December 5, 2018, in Toronto.

He was in the steel industry at John T. Hepburn until retiring in 1985.

Kirpa Ram was the beloved husband of the late Kailash Kanta Sabharwal.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Davinder Sabharwal, Paul Sabharwal and Krishan Sabharwal; and sisters, Raj Bhasin and Kanta Chadha.

Kirpa Ram is survived by his sons, Rajan Sabharwal (Maddie Sharma) and Ajey Sabharwal (Lilimae Rizarri); daughter, Vanita Sabharwal; brother, Brij Mon Sabharwal; sisters, Santosh Kohli and Kiran Kashyap; grandchildren, Kayla Sabharwal, Alex Sabharwal, and Dharashanti Sabharwal–Cuddeford; and his many nieces and nephews. He was a founder and lifetime trustee of the first Hindu Temple in Toronto, the Hindu Prarthana Samaj. Kirpa Ram immigrated to England in the 1950s and then to Canada with his family in 1965.

He was an avid reader and learner, respected member of the Hindu community, a humanitarian and leading advocate for human rights. He is remembered as the patriarch of the family, giver of sage advice, selfless service, sense of humor and love of life.

Friends and family are welcome to attend the service on Sunday, December 9th, Visitation 3:00 to 4:00 p.m., Service 4:00-5:30 p.m. at Lotus Funeral and Cremation Centre, 121 Cityview Drive, Toronto, Ontario.
