ROCCASALVA, Salvatore 'Sam' - Passed away peacefully at his home in Markham, Ontario, Canada on Tuesday, December 11, 2018. He was in his 88th year.
Loving husband of Antonina (Dina) for 65 years.
Beloved father of Maria (Chuck), Diego (Kelly), Paulette, Marco (Tracy) and Rick (Sandra).
Proud Nonno of Lisa, Stephanie, Salvatore, Anthony, Isabella, Quentin, Christian, Joshua, Emmaline, Gabriel, and Sabrina.
Great grandfather of Enrico, Ariana, Mia, and Amare.
Salvatore immigrated from Sicily to Canada in the early 1950s. He started his career as a photographer back in Sicily and became Head Mechanical Technician at a large textile manufacturing company in the Toronto area.
During those years, he successfully supported a family of five children, and provided for all their needs. Additionally, he was an active gym member, loved going to the family cottage and had a unique way of putting a smile on the faces of all that interacted with him.
He will be sorely missed and may he rest in peace.
Visitation will take place at Highland Funeral Home, Scarborough on December 14th from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM. The service will be held in the chapel on December 15th at 1:00 PM with visitation from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Society.
