ZAHRA, Sheila - It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Sheila Zahraon Thursday, December 13, 2018.
Born March 31, 1930 in Aberdeen, Scotland, Sheila had a large family of brothers and sisters who lived through both the depression and World War 2.
At the age of 17 she came to Canada to live with her grandmother and start a new life. She married Carmel in 1960 and then welcomed a daughter, Catherine, in 1961.
She worked, proudly, for Bell Canada for 42 years and after retirement spent time travelling with Charles, became a member of a Seniors group and spent lots of time with her four grandchildren.
Sheila passed away peacefully at the I.O.O.F Seniors Home in Barrie.
She was predeceased by her husband Carmel and survived by her daughter Catherine (Phillip) and her four grandchildren: Ashley (Kyle), Matthew (Nastassja), Drew and Lauren, and two beautiful great grandchildren Violet and Milo.
Visitation at Giffen-Mack funeral home, 2570 Danforth Ave, Toronto on December 21st from 10:00 am until time of funeral service there at 12:00 pm. Reception to follow.
The family is grateful to the team at the I.O.O.F. Seniors Home, Baldwin Lane for the care and compassion they provided to Sheila. They made the last months of her life comfortable and dignified.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the I.O.O.F Seniors Home in Barrie Ontario would be appreciated.
