Bolognese SoniaBOLOGNESE, Sonia - Our family is heartbroken to announce the passing of our daughter and sister, Sonia Bolognese. In the early evening of January 12th, 2019, at the age of 50, she peacefully entered into eternal rest.

Sonia was born in Toronto, on April 21st 1968, as a small, determined and mighty preemie. She continued to manifest these traits throughout her entire life, and defied many odds, along her journey. Her generosity, strong will, sense of humour and the great love that she had for her family, friends and animals, is what we will forever hold, in our hearts and memories.

Sonia will be missed immensely by her devoted and loving parents Louie and Bianca, and her doting sister Ruby.

Her grandmother Maria Mastroianni was her daily confidante. She also deeply loved all of her grandparents who have predeceased her (Saverio Mastroianni, and Emilia and Vincenzo Bolognese.) Sonia’s aunts, uncles, cousins as well as their spouses and children, were her world. She adored them, as they did her.

Sonia also cherished and loved her friends; who over the years, became as close as family! We will all miss the regular phone calls, the chats, the updates, the up and coming shows to watch, the thoughtfully written cards as well as the love and support that she gave to each and every one of us!

As it certainly “takes a village”, our heartfelt appreciation goes to the special doctors, nurses and health care workers who went above and beyond to care and comfort Sonia. A very special thank you to our life-long family physican Dr. Lawrence Sax, her palliative care physician Dr. Caplan and Sonia’s special nurse, Melisa from Spectrum. Sonia loved animals especially cats.

Visitation at Newediuk Funeral home, Kipling chapel, Toronto on January 15th from 2 - 4pm and 6 - 9pm.

Funeral Service at All Saints Church, 1415 Royal York Road, Toronto on January 16th at 9:30 a.m. Interment in Woodbridge.

Anyone wishing to make a donation in her honour, can do so at the Ontario SPCA or The Humane Society.
