Knighton GloriaKNIGHTON, Gloria Lynn - (August 5, 1951January 16, 2019) -

Gloria Lynn Knighton, age 67, of Scarborough, Ontario passed away peacefully at Scarborough General Hospital on Wednesday January 16, 2019. Gloria was born August 5, 1951.

Left to mourn is her husband of 42 years Edward "Ted" Knighton.

Gloria lived her life legally blind and during her working years, worked at the Canadian National Institute for the Blind. The CNIB Foundation is a volunteer agency and charitable organization dedicated to assisting Canadians who are blind or living with vision loss, and to provide information about vision health for all Canadians.

Gloria was a very loving person. She was very caring of others (loved being around people) and she loved animals. She loved to listen to Animal Planet and all other animal shows on TV. Gloria loved to cook. She had a gift for making crafts and was known for her Christmas wreaths and plastic flower arrangements. Gloria also loved the out of doors, especially being around water. In her later years she fought diabetes valiantly.

Visitation for Gloria will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019 from 12:30 to 1:30 pm at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home, 4115 Lawrence Ave East, Scarborough. A Funeral Service will follow at 1:30 pm in the Giffen-Mack Chapel with Father Ken Johnstone of St. Margaret in the Pines Anglican Church.

Burial will take place at Duffin Meadows Cemetery, 2505 Brock Road, Pickering, Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CNIB in Gloria's memory.
