JACKSON, David (Dave) Bremmer - June 30, 1924 - December 22, 2018
Dave Jackson was granted his last wish for his 95th Christmas.
A death with dignity. He passed quietly on Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington.
With him at the end were his three children: David, JoAnn and Larry, as well as his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Most all of them took turns sitting by his bedside and holding his hand though his final week of sleep.
The only one missing from his bedside was his late wife Permillie; his companion of 65 years.
Alzheimer's took her from him 9 years ago. Her death was a loss that he mourned every day.
Dave Jackson was born in Hamilton, Ontario but spent most of his adult life in Toronto.
For many years, home was Barclay Terrace in Etobicoke. At the end he was still living independently at Hearthstone by the Lake in Burlington. Dave was the second of two boys raised by Reg and Nell Jackson; immigrants from Liverpool who had come to Canada in the early years of the 20th Century.
There will be a Celebration of Life at Hearthstone by the Lake in Burlington this coming summer on June 15, 2019; around the time of what would have been his 95th birthday. Friends, family and colleagues from all the chapters of his life are welcome.
