ROGERS, Margaret Annette  - January 3, 1938 – January 10, 2019

Margaret left us on January 10, 2019, after a valiant battle with three incurable diseases.

By some miracle, her sense of humour didn't desert her and she soon became the darling of the Extendicare Bayview staff.

She leaves behind her devoted partner Rhoda Burns, sister Joan McMillan, and brother Bill Rogers (Judy) and their extended families; many cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her brother Ted. Margie (as she was known) was something of a pioneer.

She left home soon after high school looking for adventure in California. When she returned to Toronto she worked for Sun Oil, followed by IBM where her more practical side came to the fore.

Between jobs she enjoyed an extended trip to Britain and Scandinavia with a high school friend. Her cousin Rob preferred Margie to all other baby sitters since she was happy letting him have his way contrary to parental instruction.

Family and friends were everything to Margie. Generous to a fault, Margie would give you the shirt off her back… or the keys to the nanny suite for that matter. All you had to do was ask.

We are grateful to Dr. Donna Edwards, Linda Gray; RN Director of care, Aurelia Tcacenco; RN charge nurse of South Unit, Jean Smith, Senior PSW, her many colleagues and the entire support staff of Extendicare Bayview for making Margie's quality of life the best it could be.

Cremation has taken place and her remains will be interred with those of her parents, Dr. Rolph and Madeline Rogers and brother Ted in the cemetery of St. John's Norway Anglican Church.

A Celebration of Margaret's Life will be held at the Donalda Club in Don Mills in the spring of 2019.
