McCusker DennisMcCUSKER, Dennis Patrick - The time has come. I've moved on.

I leave my loving wife, Vicki, three children: Kris, Joanna (Markus), Mark (Sarah), and my grandson, Declan.

I've lived a full life, rich with a loving family, wonderful friends, and many fond memories.

I grew up in Toronto on Alcorn Avenue in Summerhill.

My older brother, Terry, and my older sister Maureen, kept me in line while we were growing up.As the youngest, I learned from my two siblings how to laugh, how to enjoy life, and how to live in the moment.

My brother taught me how to play sports and be one of the guys. My sister gave me warm moments and taught me how to dance. I leave my brother, but I sit with my sister now.

I met the love of my life, Vicki, in 1980 at the University of Toronto. We fell in love and had two children, Joanna and Mark. We made a happy life together travelling and enjoying family dinners. I will always remember the special moments we shared together. I wish things had worked out with my first wife, Sandi, but we had many wonderful times, remained friends and are both very proud of our daughter, Kris.

I taught for many years at the North York Board of Education, as well as a brief stint with the Toronto Catholic School Board. I have fond memories of students and colleagues.

When I was younger, I spent my time on baseball and football fields, and in hockey arenas. With the help of many teammates and coaches, I achieved many goals as an athlete. Later in life, instead of fields and arenas, I spent my days at curling bonspiels, golf courses, family dinners, and on cruise ships. I even volunteered at the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, helping out at Whistler for the ski jump event.

I've had a good life and have very few regrets. Through childhood, curling, teaching and golf, I have made lifelong friendships that I value, most importantly my best friend of 76 years, Terry.

I've been a teacher, an athlete, a brother, a husband and a friend. But the role I most cherish and want to be remembered by is as a father.

Signing off; Dennis Patrick McCusker
