Ktenas JimmyKTENAS, Demetre Jimmy - Peacefully passed away on Friday, February 8, 2019 surrounded by his family.

Loving husband to the late Thomais Ktenas.

Dear father to Dena (Tom Proutsos), and Agnes (John Iliopoulos).

Proud Pappou to Jim Proutsos (Jen), Jenny Proutsos (Carl), Nick Iliopoulos (Monica), Vicki (Carlo Troia), Sophia (Steven Said) and to his great grandchildren Athan, Lucas, Arianna, Isabel, Marco, Zenon Yiorgios, Sebastian and one on the way…

Born in Kapsia, Tripoli, Greece on November 19, 1925, son of Nicholas and Konstantina Ktenas. Jimmy immigrated to Canada in 1955 where he met his beautiful wife, May and settled in Toronto, where they had two daughters, Dena and Agnes.

Jimmy was a professionally trained chef who opened his own restaurant, Florida Shishkebob House. After many years of hard work, he retired at the age of 60 and continued his life with May and travelled to their second home in Greece every year. 

A very special thank you to Denise Horsford for all her care and compassion during the last 10 years.

Visitation will be held at the Highland Funeral Home, Scarborough on Monday, February 11, 2019 from 2-4pm and 6-9pm. Funeral Service at 10am on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 3840 Finch Avenue East, Toronto.
