BLOOR, Sonya (nee UMA SONYA MENON) - Age 47, passed away on January 29, 2019, after a courageous battle with triple-negative breast cancer.
She was born May 8, 1971 in Kanpur, India, to Krishna Menon and Nina Arya.
In 1992, after only three short months of dating, she was engaged to marry her love, Ryan Bloor.
They wed on June 11, 1995 in Toronto, Canada.
Sonya loved life and, above all, loved people. She would make new friends wherever she went and would exchange a smile with whomever she greeted. She loved to socialize.
Sonya is survived by her husband Ryan; her three children, Caelan, 18, Kannan, 15 and Arabella, 6; her father, Krishna; and her brother, Anand. Sadly, she lost her own beloved mother, Nina, to ovarian cancer in 2015. All of them she loved dearly and touched deeply. She and her mother are reunited.

Through Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, she fervently participated in and supported research into new treatments to further the fight against this terrible disease for herself and for others who would come after her.
