Predeceased by her loving brother Jack Bell (Gwen Bell), sister Agnes Roswell (predeceased John Roswell), brother Robert Bell, sister Dorthia Bell and sister Betty-May Bell.

Fondly remembered by her cousins, nieces and nephews better known as The Bell Clan and dear friends.

A tribute from her first grandson Andrew Noble for Grandma, also known as Nanny: My Grandma was born in the Himalayas, near the small village of Kweiteh, Tsinghai, China, into a missionary family. As a young child she grew up in the mountains, later she joined her older siblings, Jack, Agnes and George in a Chefoo Boarding School. For the duration of WWII the Japanese interned the boarding school in a Japanese prison camp. This experience continued to weigh heavily on Grandma her entire life. After the war grandma’s family returned to Toronto, Ontario, where in time, she met my grandpa, Reinhard Riegler. They married, became missionaries and served in Laos for four years. When they returned to Canada with two little children, and one more on the way, they continued to serve God through the church and in their home. Grandma’s strength came from her life experiences and her home life. She raised three amazing children, was a grandma to seven grandchildren and a great-grandmother to two more. Grandma was known as a very knowledgeable and conversational grandma! She taught us all so much growing up, so many experiences, memories and lessons which we will never forget. Grandma lived a remarkable life, she was a poet, an artist and author; she wrote many great poems and worked on a biography of her life and experiences growing up during the war. Grandma is cherished for her gardens, rock gardens, walkways and even the stream she made flow an entirely different direction in her backyard. With her own two hands, moving and placing each stone to change the flow of the creek throughout her garden.

We will always love you, miss you and will never forget you.

Nanny, we know God is celebrating your arrival in heaven, and we don't have any doubts that grandpa has been standing at the gates waiting for you. We will miss you both but are happy you two are together again. Love you both, Always!

Visitation will be held at the Jerrett Life Celebration Centre, 8088 Yonge St, Thornhill on Monday from 10:30 am until time of service at 12pm.

If you wish to make a donation in Edith’s honour, donations to The Overseas Missionary Fellowship Designated for OMF work in Laos would be greatly appreciated by the Riegler Family. https://omf.org/ca/get-involved/give/ways-to-give/
