McCOMISKEY, Edward - (March 22, 1914 – February 20, 2019) -
It is with sadness that Ed’s family announce his passing on February 20th, 2019 after a brief illness. In his 105th year, Ed passed away in the care of the wonderful staff at Nisbet Lodge - his home for the past few years.
Devoted husband to the late Phyllis, loving father to Jim (Vicki), Dave (Cathy), proud Grandfather to Ryan (Patty), Joel (Jessica), Paul (Karen), Phil (Leslie), great-grandfather to Spencer, Olivia and Arlo.
Ed emigrated from Northern Ireland, arriving in Toronto in January, 1954. Over the years, he worked at Westons Bread, T. Eaton Co. and Foster Shoes. Ed was an active volunteer at Calvary Church for over 5 decades, a faithful supporter of many mission organizations and charities, a prayer warrior and a true man of God.
Visitation will be held at Trull Funeral Homes, 1111 Danforth Ave., Toronto on Tuesday February 26th from 2 to 4 pm and from 6 to 8 pm.
The funeral service will be held at Calvary Church, 746 Pape Ave., Toronto at 2 pm on Wednesday, February 27th and will be followed by light refreshments.
In lieu of flowers, donations to honour Ed are requested to Nisbet Lodge or The Faith Mission.
A private family interment will follow in the Spring.
