JalaeiBayani ZahraJALAEI-BAYANI, Zahra  -  It is with great sadness that the family of Zahra Jalaei-Bayani announces her passing away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at the age of 85 years.

Zahra will be lovingly remembered by her brother Jafar Jalaei and her daughters Soraya (Esfaril), Shahnaz (Mirshams), Mahnaz, and Marri (Khalil).

Zahra will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Neeloofar (Rob), Lili (Keyvan), Naghmeh, Ali (Azadeh), Gelareh, Sheydah (Mohammad), Shahrooz (Maryam), Aylar (Ardavan), Mehdi, Rambod (Stacey), Sheeva (Nguyen), and Sina, as well as by her great-grandchildren Shakur, Kian, Arshida, Arianna, Kimia, Diana, Karan, and Macan, and her many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Zahra was predeceased by her husband Mohammad and her daughter Susan.

Zahra was born in Rasht, Iran. She was a forward thinker who was the first woman driver in her region where she could be seen driving her car around town wearing some of the newest fashions. She held a degree from beauty school and was an accomplished cook and baker who introduced the art of French pastry to her friends and family. She was an incredibly talented self-taught craft maker and seamstress. Zahra was a woman who embraced society’s liberal progression, a brave fighter and defender of her friends and family, and she accepted and supported her children and grandchildren as they were. Her friends and family will miss this remarkable and generous woman who did all in her power to lift and support all the people in her life.

A funeral service in memory of Zahra will be held on Monday, February 25, 2019 at 11 am, at the Marshall Funeral Home, 10366 Yonge Street in Richmond Hill, Ontario officiated by Siavosh Sadeghi. Interment will follow immediately afterward at Aurora Cemetery at 14253 Yonge Street, Aurora, Ontario.
