GOMES, Jose Francisco - Passed away peacefully at home on May 18, 2019 surrounded by family.
He leaves behind his wife Maria Natividade, children Adelaide and Jose, his brother Antonio (Elvira) of Toronto, his many godchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada and USA.
Predeceased by his sister Maria Costa of Stoughton MA, USA.
He immigrated to Canada from Flores Island, Azores, Portugal in 1962, followed 2 years later by his wife and children. He worked in the logging camps in Chapleau, Ontario and later became a steelworker for Westeel-Rosco and Gatsteel in Toronto.
After retiring he enjoyed travelling to Europe and the Caribbean.
Visitation will be held at Cardinal Funeral Home, Bathurst Chapel, toronto on May 22, 2019 from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM. The service will take place at St. Mary's Church, Toronto on May 23, 2019 at a time to be confirmed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the memory of Jose F. Gomes to The Kidney Foundation of Canada..
