FlambourasFLAMBOURAS, Helene - It is with great sadness that the family of Helene Flambouras announces her sudden passing on Friday, May 17, 2019, at 68 years of age.

Helene was born in Komi, Tripoli on the Peloponnese in her homeland of Greece. She moved to Athens, and then immigrated to Montreal, Quebec as a young woman, where she met her future husband, Jean, married, had children, and then settled in Toronto, to be closer to her extended family.

Helene will be profoundly missed by her faithful husband of forty-four years, Jean, and their children, Areti (Mike) and Dionysus (Sonya), and her grandchildren, Christina and Arianna, and Jean-Achilles and Leonidas.

Helene was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother; as the matriarch of the family she will always be cherished for how fiercely she loved and protected all within her fold. Her wit and charm, uncommon humour, and infectious laughter will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

Helene is predeceased by her siblings Mike and Eugenia, and she is survived by her siblings: Charalabos, Christos, Peter, George, Christina, Georgia, and their families.

A funeral service in memory of Helene will be held on Tuesday May 21 2019 at 11:30 a.m., at St Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 30 Thorncliffe Park Drive, with Reverand Constantine Pavlidis officiating. Interment will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Helene, mother, sister, daughter, we are connected by a thread, and if we are ever far apart, we will still feel the pull of you.
