Scuglia ClaraSCUGLIA, Clara (nee Curci)  -  Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 23, 2019, after a courageous battle with heart disease and multiple illnesses at the age of 92 years. These debilitating challenges did not deter her indomitable spirit.

She was born in Pontone, on the Amalfi Coast, Italy, on February 23,1927 to Michele Curci and Lucia (nee Nolli).

Predeceased by her beloved husband, Francesco on January 20, 1996.

Loving mother to Domenic (Kim); Michael (Dawn); Frank (Nancy); and Catherine, who was not only her devoted daughter but closest friend. She lovingly and steadfastly cared for her these many years till the end.

Cherished Nonna to Sarah (Calvin), Frankie, Allie (Anthony), Andrew, Adam, Maria and Francesco and Great Nonna to Aiden.

Dear sister to Gerardo, Francis and Elvira. Predeceased by siblings, Raffaele, Andrea and Michele. Loving Zia to many nieces and nephews in Toronto and Italy.

Clara was a determined and hard-working individual who always placed the needs of her family ahead of herself. At the age of 13, following her father’s sudden death, she left school to help her mother raise her siblings during WWII.

Clara loved spending time with her family on the beaches of the Amalfi Coast. Her other passions included gardening, and cooking and sharing her treasured recipes with family and friends to enjoy.

The family would like to thank the many others who helped provide support to Clara, as well as, her family doctor, Dr. Salma Kassam.

Visitation will be held at Marshall Funeral Home, 10366 Younge Street, Richmond Hill, ON., on Monday, May 27th, from 2pm to 4pm, and from 7pm to 9pm. Funeral Service will be held at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 10295 Younge Street, Richmond Hill, ON, on Tuesday, May 28th, at 10am. Interment Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Thornhill, ON.
