Beattie BonnieMcCONNELL, Ethel Laurie 'Bonnie Beattie'  -  Passed away peacefully at Coleman Care Centre, Barrie, ON on June 17, 2019 in her 92nd year.

Predeceased by her husband Albert Thomas Beattie. Beloved partner of Brian Mallett.

Beloved mother of Patricia (Ward Rudderham), Doug (Pam Beattie), Christina, Teresa (Brian Ray), Steven (Ema Dantas).

Proud grandmother of Jennifer & Timothy, Allison & Samantha, Lalena and Matthew, Patricia & Nicole. Great grandmother of Hunter, Cooper, Parker, Bella, Nathan, Sydney, Dillan, Thea, Celene, Liv, Grayson, Abby, Ethan, Julia. Sister of Ted, Ralph, Gwendilyn, Florie, Phylis.

Daughter of the late Alexander Laurie & Bessie Ann Moore. 

Special thanks to the caring staff at the Coleman Care Centre in Barrie. 

Always known as Bonnie by friends and family. Was raised in central Newfoundland in a small logging village (Millertown). Educated at Bishop Spencer Girls School in St. Johns, NFLD. Reporter/writer for St. John’s Daily News. Moved to Toronto to marry and raise 5 children. Started a type-setting company which she ran for many years while selling and buying back the business at least twice over. While raising her family, traveled weekly to the family cottage on Gloucester Pool. Travelled extensively in her later years. 

A visitation will be held at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main Street South, Newmarket, on Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 2-4 pm, and 6-8 pm. Chapel Service on Friday, June 21, 2019 at 11 am. Please join the family for a reception following the service. Burial to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bradford at 2 pm.
