KNOWLES-PHILLIPS, Mavis Barbara - At age 72, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 07, 2019, in the comfort of her home in Brampton Ontario. She was born December 09, 1946, in Portland Jamaica.
She worked in the health sector for 47 years both in her native country Jamaica and Ontario, Canada where she worked at Schlegel Villages for 18 years after graduating from Sheridan College.
Mavis truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, travelling, and spending many hours shopping. Mavis had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. She has a passion for helping others especially young people to fulfill their dreams.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years Shirly Phillips.
Children Gary Sadler, Patrick Phillips and Andrea Phillips, grand-children Danya Sadler, Keyorna Laidlaw and Courtney Sadler; sisters Pauline and Totlyn sisters-in-law Winsome, Carol and Leonie brother-in–laws Don, Lexie and Paul and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends whose lives Mavis touched are invited to the Scott Funeral Home, Brampton Chapel, 289 Main Street N. Brampton ON, from 2 - 4 pm, on Saturday, July 13, 2019, to reminisce, grieve, support each other and of course just chat.
