Boukydis PeterBOUKYDIS, Peter - Peacefully passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at the age of 94.

He was born in Arahova Karyes Laconia to Nickolaos and Nickoletta. His siblings are Stavroula Malikotsis, Kostandina Boukydis, Jimmy Boukydis, Eleni Kringas and Iphigenia Zubulakis.

Peter arrived in Toronto in 1951 from Greece with Jimmy and operated the Atlanta Restaurant on Carlton and Jarvis in Toronto.

The Atlanta became the centre of attraction for all the Greek families that immigrated to Toronto to find love and friendship.

Peter found his love and married Lena Kouvara in 1969. They lived in East York where Nick and Peter still live. Peter and Lena have 2 children, Nick Boukydis and Maria Boukydis-Anastasopoulos and 2 grand children, Elena and George.

The unfortunate passing of Lena 16 years ago, left a huge gap in Peter's life, but his children and grandchildren were constantly surrounding him and keeping him busy.

The family will receive friends at Metamorphosis Tou Sotiriou Greek Orthodox Church 40 Donlands Avenue, Toronto on Thursday, November 12th, 2020 from 4 to 8 PM for a memorial viewing. A funeral service will take place also at Metamorphosis Tou Sotiriou on Friday, November 13, 2020 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow.

Heritage would like to remind attendees to please adhere to social distancing measures currently in place at the church to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 Virus.

Heritage would also like to inform prospective attendees to the burial, that a limited amount of people will be allowed inside the cemetery grounds due to COVID-19 guidelines. For this reason, attendance will be restricted exclusively to those who have been contacted directly by the family.
