Franchin LuigiFRANCHIN, Luigi 'Louie' - Luigi, or Louie as he like to be called, passed away peacefully in his sleep early Monday November 16, 2020. He was in his 95th year.

Luigi is now united in heaven with his parents Aurelio and Irma, and his younger brother Ermes.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 71 years, Maria. Father to Loretta (Peter) and Angelo (Christina). Grandfather to Michelle (David), Stephen (Jessie), Peter (Nadia) and Andrew. Great-grandfather to Victoria, Samantha, Matthew, Zoey, Audrey and Liam.

He will be greatly missed by all his family and his nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy.

Luigi was born in Quinto, Treviso, Italy, and immigrated to Canada in 1949. He worked at Booth Bricks for 25 years, and then Peelco/Mancor for 15 years until he retired. Luigi loved the outdoors and you could find him fishing or gardening and tending to his prized tomatoes. He loved watching all sports, and was always proud to hear the stories of his son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren playing hockey and soccer.

Luigi will be greatly missed.

Friends and family may visit (RESPECTING COVID RESTRICTIONS) on Wednesday, November 18 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd W., Etobicoke. A Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, November 19 at 11:30 am in the funeral home chapel.

***Please go to the Ridley funeral home website, click on Luigi's webpage, and scroll down to the bottom of that page to sign up for the visitation and the funeral service* Guests who have not signed up will not be admitted. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the capacity of the funeral home's facilities has been limited, and no food or drinks are allowed inside the building.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, that a donation can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
