Rose was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 Years Joseph Salnek. Also preceded in death is her sister Alice (Dupuis), Cecile (Berard), brothers Bill and Marcel.

Cherished and loving mother to Leona (Wayne), Marilyn, Gail (Bill) and Paul (Julie). Proudest Nana to Melanie/Kyle, Ashley/Dylan, Paul/Cassandra and lovely Great Nana to her special Christian.

She will be remembered by her loving brother Andrew/Jean Dupuis, her sister Adeline (Starodub) and the many other family, friends and neighbours on Lansdowne Avenue. Also, by her special niece Connie Dupuis.

A very special mention to her daughter Marilyn. She was her best friend and caregiver who gave Rose the opportunity to live life to its fullest and to pass peacefully at home.

We would like to thank the March of Dimes for their compassion and wonderful care over the past four years. And, a very special thanks goes out to Patricia and Ingrid for taking such good care of Rose.

Rose lived a century and was special to everyone. She was Mom, Nana, Great Nana, Auntie and Sister. Rose was loved by all.  She was the strongest woman we knew and will ever know. She was the glue and matriarch of our family and always showed us what unconditional love truly is. We will love and honour her for the rest of our lives.

Rose was born in 1918 during the Spanish Flu Pandemic and passed away during the Covid-19 Pandemic. She was born in 1918 to David and Alede Dupuis in Ste. Elizabeth, Manitoba. She lived on a farm with her dad and siblings after her mother passed away at the age of 32 from complications of childbirth.

In 1939, she met the love of her life, Joseph Salnek and was married on October 25,1941. They moved from Manitoba to Toronto in 1947 and lived on Rusholme Road. They purchased their first home on Lansdowne Avenue in 1951 where they started their family. Rose lived on Lansdowne Avenue for 65 years with her adoring daughter Marilyn. In 2016, Marilyn and Rose moved to a condominium in Mississauga until she passed on December 3, 2020.

Arrangements entrusted with Scott funeral home, MISSISSAUGA chapel. Private viewings will be held on Tuesday December 8th by invitation only due to Covid-19 restrictions.
