RODRIGUES, Goret “Goretti’ De Melo Freitas - It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic passing of our dear mother, daughter, sister, and aunt, “Goretti’ on December 2, 2020.
She will be greatly missed by: her devoted children, Tiffany Rodrigues (Ryan Hayes) and Ricky Rodrigues (Ian Costello).
Her dear mother, Maria (Melo) De Freitas.
Loving sisters, Elizabeth Kyles, Fernanda Soares, Inesia Rego, and Nelia Vieira.
Her cherished goddaughter, Sabrina Vieira.
Her loyal pets, Chucky, Coco, Cody; and her many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and friends.
Goretti was predeceased by her adoring father, Alfredo De Freitas in March 2017.
Goretti was born in Toronto, Ontario, on November 06, 1963, to Maria and the late Alfredo De Freitas. She grew up on Lisgar and Fennings streets, near the community of Little Portugal.
Goretti spent many years working as a receptionist in the legal field, a job she excelled at thanks to her dazzling smile and her bubbly and welcoming personality. She had the most contagious laugh and a zest for making sure everyone was always having a fun time, no matter the occasion.
She shared her enormous heart with all those around her, especially the children in her life.
Memories of Goretti will be forever treasured and she will be eternally missed by all who knew her.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family visitation, funeral mass, and entombment will be held.
Donations in her memory can be made to the Toronto Humane Society.
