Ross JuneROSS, June Evelyn - Our beloved MOM, June Evelyn Ross (Benns) aged 88 passed away peacefully On December 19th, 2020 at Kensington Gardens in Toronto. Mom put up a long fight with her 10+ year battle with Alzheimer’s.

She was the loving wife of the late George A. Ross and they are now reunited.

She was the most loving and devoted MOM to Sharon & Tom. Her two grandchildren were the sparkle in her eye and who she loved “tons”, Daniel and Chris you meant the world to your Nama.

She was the last member of her siblings as her sister Loretta Clark & brother Tom Benns are both deceased.

She is survived by her two cousins Patricia Sutcliffe Ferma and Peggy Salada. She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews who knew her as “Auntie June."

To describe our MOM it would be to say her family meant everything to her. She had the biggest heart that was full of compassion and love.

She was lost after losing her love George 21 years ago but she eventually found activities like working at a photography studio, joining the Catholic Women’s League (CWL) and volunteering at the “out of the cold” event to feed the needy. She also found time on a regular basis to make trips to Square One shopping mall but once grandchildren came along those trips became daily; she loved buying things for her boys.

She was known for having the most beautiful handwriting and was the envy of many. Camping was a big part of our family and we all had our own camping names and mom was known as “Killer Ross." Now this name may surprise you, but it was for killing all the mosquitoes in the trailer, that was her mission. Our camping adventures always started with Mom preparing a list, she had lists for everything so nothing would be forgotten. Our camping club was a big part of our lives where many lifelong friendships were formed.

Although Mom was a simple person in her dress she would not go anywhere without her lipstick and blush on. She always enjoyed wearing her jewelry and her rings were never off her hands. Speaking of hands, she would always say you can always tell a women’s age by her hands, so she applied cream day and night, to this day Mom’s hands were ageless and soft.

We will miss our mom so very much but knowing she is in a better place and with the love of her life, our Dad, brings us comfort. We could write so very much on our Mom but our memories will be our story and her love for family will be her legacy.

Rest in peace our dear Mom, Nama, Aunt, Cousin & Friend. May God bring you comfort.

With all our love.
