SHANTORA, Kathleen (Kathie) (nee BURROWS)   - December 23, 1933 – December 19, 2020

Shantora KathleenIt is with great sadness that the family of Kathie Shantora announce her passing on December 19, 2020, at Scarborough General Hospital.

Kathie leaves behind her beloved husband James (Jim) to whom she was married for 64 years, mother to Kathy (Keith) Nelles and Susan (Chuck Rockwell) and predeceased by her son Barry.

She will be dearly missed by her beloved grandchildren Laura, Kellianne and Trevor Nelles; Beverley, Diana and Olivia Rockwell and Elisabeth Shantora.

will be missed by her in-laws Vic and Barbara Shantora, Kathryn Shantora, Marilyn Burrows, Lorna Burrows, her many nieces and nephews and many friends. Kathie was predeceased by her parents Chester Burrows and Edith Burrows (Rogers) and her siblings: Jim, Jack and Betty.

Kathie lived her married life in Agincourt, raising her children, being a member of Knox United Church, gathering history, postcards, collectibles, reading The Star, playing Bridge and living a social life.

She was a friendly, kind and generous friend to many people. Although Kathie would have loved a big funeral where everyone could attend, due to Covid we will have a small private family service at Ogden Funeral Home.

She will be buried at Knox United Church in Agincourt.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Knox Church Cemetery Fund or the MS Society of Canada would be welcome.
