Paterson Dorothy MaePATERSON, Dorothy-Mae (nee DUNSMOOR)   -  April 25, 1935 - January 5, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy-Mae Paterson, age 85, on January 5, 2021.

We said goodbye to our wonderful mother as she passed away peacefully in the care of doctors and staff at Sunnybrook after a period of illness.

We are grateful for the life that Dorothy-Mae lived, knowing that she touched many lives as a nurse, volunteer, sponsor, neighbour and friend.

Though she struggled with her health for many years, Dorothy-Mae was cheerful and altruistic, always looking out for the lonely and vulnerable, wanting to help.

She had the gift of encouragement, a strong Christian faith and a childlike enthusiasm for life's great adventures.

She loved to be with people and to have fun.

Predeceased by Dan, her devoted husband of 50 years, her sister Penny Liban, brother Bill Dunsmoor and her parents Bill and Isabel Dunsmoor. She will be missed by her children Stephen (Carmen), Diane Dyer (Ron) and Dale, grandson William Dyer (Sarah), great-granddaughter Claire and the rest of her family and friends.

We are comforted knowing she has gone to her reward.

In light of current restrictions, we will honour Dorothy-Mae with a memorial service at a later date.

In her memory, donations to CAMH, Doctors Without Borders, FoodShare, World Vision or another charity of your choice would be appreciated.
