Goordat BevinGOORDAT, Bevin Roopnaraine - (October 20, 1960 - January 4, 2021) - With very heavy and broken hearts, we announce the death of our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, friend and mentor.

Bevin (Buddy) Goordat was 60 years old and passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on January 4, 2021 at Mackenzie Health Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, three children, and six siblings.

Bevin was born in New Amsterdam, Guyana. He was only three years old when his dad passed away. As such, he developed a very close relationship with his mom and siblings. At this very early age, Bevin grew to value hard work and providing for his family.

When he was fifteen, he immigrated to Canada. Two years later, he began working for ITL, a tire manufacturing company. He remained in this profession for the rest of his life, working his way up from machine operator to Director of Operations/Manufacturing, and survived many mergers and acquisitions.

Bevin was generous, caring, extremely humble, and kind in every way possible. Even in the briefest encounter, he left a lasting impression on every person he crossed paths with. He never hesitated to share his wealth of knowledge whenever he saw the need to. He was a fun guy to be with because of his incredible sense of humour.

Bevin's departure from this world was sudden and much too soon. We are all deeply saddened that he is no longer with us—however, he left the world a much better place due to his unwavering kindness.

Matthew 5:4 - "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted."

Respecting the current situation and pandemic restrictions, the funeral service and interment will be private. Arrangements entrusted with Ward funeral home, WOODBRIDGE Chapel.

The family has provided the opportunity to view the zoom service from the comfort of your own home. Please visit Mr. Goordat's memorial page via the funeral home's website, then click "Photos and Videos" for the link under webcast at time of service on Saturday. On mobile devices and tablets the webcast link will be available by scrolling to the bottom of the page.
