Landry YvonLANDRY, Yvon - Yvon Landry born February 24, 1934 passed peacefully at home on Thursday evening, the 28th of January, 2021, with his family.

Loving husband of 65 years to Françoise Landry (nee Gariépy), father to Denis (Linda) Monique (Robert) Claudette (Arthur), Francine (Terry), Jacqueline (Bob) and Carole (Tim).

Grandfather to Jocelyne (Garrett), Rachelle, Danielle (Andrew), Catie (MJ), Stephanie, Gabrielle, Patrick (Jennifer), Jeff (Kara); Whitney (Cameron), Joel (Katie), Scott, Timothy (Sophie), Alexandre (Cody) Madelaine (Grant), Sara & Sam; great grandfather to Hudson, Dawson, Paxton, Kai, Bohdi, Éléanore, Juliette, Maxwell, Charlotte, Mason, Gabriel & Clementine.

Brother to Jacynthe, Jacques, Paul-Émile, Claude, Thérese, Jeanne-Mance, predeceased by Léo, Marie, François, Annette and godfather to predeceased Mona.

Born in Pokemouche, raised in Inkerman, New Brunswick, moved to Toronto in 1950 and worked as a transport driver; he drove more miles backwards than most people drive forward!

A proud and loving patriarch to his large, extended family. Yvon cherished his family who have many loving memories of him singing country songs, dancing to Elvis, playing cards with the “good guys” and making sure they all went home with full bellies! He was deeply connected to his Acadian roots and was happiest surrounded by his 6 children, their spouses, 16 grandchildren and 12 ¾ great grandchildren!

He will be greatly missed but live on in all of our wonderful memories!

We would like to say a special thank you to Alison Thomas at the dialysis unit at St. Michael’s and all the rest of the team. Also, thank you to the Temmy Latner Palliative centre for their wonderful care during his last days.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, a private prayer service was held. A memorial service will take place at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted with Rosar-Morrison funeral home, Toronto.

Donations can be made in Yvon Landry’s name to St. Michael’s foundation hemo-dialysis unit, the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care or Francoise would also appreciate any masses to be offered in his name.
