GERVASI, Louis (Luigi)   -  January 1, 1947 - January 28, 2021

Lou Gervasi died in Etobicoke, on January 28, 2021, at the age of 74.

Lou is survived by his loving wife Antonietta Gervasi (nee Sasso) and daughters Angela and Maria Gervasi.

He was a proud Nonno to Marisa, Justin, Christian, and Laura.

He is also survived by his sister Rose Miceli (Marcel) and was a beloved Zio to his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He is predeceased by his sister Franca and his parents.

Lou was born in Marano Marchesato, Cosenza, Calabria, Italy, to Giuseppe and Angela Gervasi. He came to Canada when he was 9 years old and the family settled in Parkdale.

Lou quickly adapted to Canadian life by becoming a regular fixture at the local hockey rinks. He became an accomplished hockey player, skating at the major junior level before being drafted by the Boston Bruins organization. He was also a lifelong sports fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Lou was a hard-working man who will be remembered by his large extended family and friends as a kind man that never had a bad word to say about anyone. He will be greatly missed.

His family is blessed in the knowledge that he loved his family dearly and was a good provider for his girls. He will remain in our hearts forever. Lou will be interred on February 4, 2021. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all services for Lou will be private.

A celebration of Lou's life will be held later, on a date to be determined. Thank you for your love, support and understanding during this difficult time.

Lou was a good catholic man of God that would want to help the poor in their time of need.

In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome donations to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in his name, https://svdptoronto.org/~svdptoro/v2/donate.html.
