Tavares Elizabeth MollyTAVARES, Elizabeth 'Molly' - (1930 - 2021) - Elizabeth “Molly” Tavares, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2021 at Seven Oaks Long Term Care.

Born on October 27, 1930 in Hong Kong, she had a successful career in the Hong Kong Education Department, retiring to move to Canada with her husband David with whom she shared 66 years of marriage.

Predeceased by David in 2019, she was the beloved mother to Carolyn (Mark), Sister Marianne rscj, Joseph (Anna) and Christopher (Norina). Proud and dearly loved grandmother of Jacqueline (Pierre), Lea, Antonia and Caitlynn and great-grandmother of Marie and Lucie.

Elizabeth’s family thanks the team at Seven Oaks Long Term Care for their loving, compassionate and professional care of Elizabeth in the last 11 months of her life. She made them laugh and they made her laugh, despite the pandemic lockdown. Nothing was ever too much. The Guard of Honour that lined the way as Elizabeth left Seven Oaks was overwhelmingly moving -- such respect shown to one who had lived in their midst can only come from the incredible team.

Arrangements entrusted with Jerrett funeral home, Scarborough. Per her wishes, Elizabeth will be cremated and laid to rest next to her beloved David at Christ the King Cemetery.

No memorial service is planned at this time due to the prolonged pandemic, but perhaps we can celebrate Elizabeth’s life at a later date. She loved to be amongst friends and host celebrations.
