POTO, Speranza (nee Porceillo) - Speranza Poto (nee Porceillo) of Woodbridge, Ontario passed away suddenly at Mackenzie Health Hospital on Wednesday, February 3rd, 2021 in her 84th year.
Beloved wife of Gaetano Poto for 63 years. Dearly loved mother of Angelo (Rosa); Maria-Gloria (Gerardo); Gaetano, Danielle (Laura); and Silvana (Jeff).
Cherished grandmother of Christina, Gaetano, Anthony, Melissa, Vincenzo, Sarah, Danielle and Valentina. Dearest big sister to Cristina Porceillo, in Italy and Victoria (Antonio) in Argentina.
Fondly remembered by extended family and friends near and far.
Born in Torella Dei Lombardi, Province of Avellino on December 16, 1937 she was the daughter of Emilio Porceillo and Clelia Terzi. With her husband and kids, she immigrated to Canada in 1969 and worked initially as a seamstress and later for Cara Kitchens in the airline industry. She left work due to illness in 1979 and eventually became a full-time housewife for the family.
There will be NO OPEN PUBLIC VISITATION.
A private family visitation and funeral service will be held at Scotts Funeral Home, Woodbridge, Ontario on Monday, February 8th There will be a live stream of the funeral service scheduled at 12pm EST. Entombment will take place at Glendale Funeral Home & Cemetery.

Physical distancing and wearing a mask will be mandatory for all guests. Due to physical distancing restrictions, the maximum capacity in our visitation suite is 10 people including family. Due to these restrictions, screening of all guests attending will take place outside prior entering the building.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Speranza's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation.
