Carrasco LuisCARRASCO, Luis “Lucho” Alfredo - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Luis, peacefully at Toronto General Hospital, on the morning of Thursday, February 4, 2021 after a brief battle with cancer. He was 90 years old.

Lucho is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Silvia, and survived by his children Luis Emilio (Paula), Jaime (Heidi), Rodrigo, and Patricio (Haley).

Oldest brother to Julieta, Fernando (Sigrid) and Patricio.

Cherished grandfather to Michael, Sebastian and Alejandro.

Loved and respected uncle to Sole (Damian), Julie (Cesar), Luis (Darinka), Leo (Catalina) and Veronica (Luis Alberto).

Lucho arrived with his young family in Toronto in the early 70s to build a life in exile from his beloved Chile. An electrical engineer by profession, he retired from the University of Toronto after 20+ years of service.

Lucho was very active and dedicated to the Chilean community in Toronto, and integral member of the Grupo Cultural Victor Jara, and the Casa Salvador Allende - Toronto.

A lifelong learner and bibliolater, Lucho Carrasco will be lovingly remembered by his family and community by his elegant prose, remarkable memory and strong spirit.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a celebration of life will be organized at a later date.
