Van Deemter ElisabethVAN DEEMTER, Elisabeth (nee Van Dalen) - Passed away February 4, 2021 at 11:40 am, in her 86th year. She fought a brave battle from testing positive from Covid-19 two months ago.

Oma was proudest of her grandchildren, Tiffany (Wes, son Max), Paul, Matthew (Laura), Joshua, Kyle (Joyce), Lani, Jennifer, Joseph, Chris, Corey and last but never least Victoria. She was exceptionally proud of her great grandchildren Charlie and Orla Van Deemter and Ella Spiteri.

Unfortunately because of an outbreak at Holland Christian Homes, the family couldn’t be close and hold her near, but her daughter Rita and grandson Paul were with her looking on through the window of her room. We were able to see her very closely and guide her through her journey. All of her favourite nurses were present and kept watch over her. She knew she was surrounded by love and knew she wasn’t alone, which she always feared. Very special thank you to the staff at Holland Christian Homes, especially to the activity coordinator Danja Memelli. She was able to be with Mom and give her the physical touch that my mom yearned for, with us nearby listening. We are so very grateful for such a gentle soul to be with her.

She will be greatly missed by daughter Alice Van Deemter, son Rob Van Deemter, son Hank Van Deemter (Debi) and daughter Rita Spiteri (Dale). Dear sister to her brother Anton Van Dalen, sister Henny Van Dalen (Andries), brother Leen Van Dalen (Helen), predeceased top Pieter Van Dalen and missed by her many nieces and nephews.

We will miss our dear mother, we are thankful for all the memories she has left with us and we are comforted knowing she is exactly where she has wanted to be for a very long time. She wrote letters to each of her children that are to be read after her passing and the last line is, “And now I have entered the pearly gates with a perfect body, no more aches, no more pain. What more could anyone ask for??!!!”

Arrangements entrusted with Scott funeral home, Brampton chapel. In light of the current global pandemic with the present restrictions placed on group gatherings by the government, attendance at the funeral home, and cemetery has been restricted to a maximum capacity of 10 people.  As a result, the visitation, service and interment will be by invitation only.

For the health and well-being of everyone, we respectfully request that attendees at the funeral home, and cemetery comply with current by-laws by observing social and physical distancing and wearing masks. Your understanding, condolences and continued support are very much appreciated during this very difficult time.
