McAllister HughMcALLISTER, Hugh - (March 29, 1938 to February 4, 2021) - It is with great sadness that the family of Hugh McAllister announces his passing on Thursday February 4th, 2021, at the age of 82 years after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Hugh will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 26 years, Marthe Fortin and his children, Tracy (Lance), Stephen (Collette), Alex, and his stepchildren Jennifer (the late Kyle) and Jeffrey (Rosalia).

Will be missed by his grandchildren, Samantha, Joseph, Sarah, Michael, Tyler, Cole, and Addison. Survived by his brother James and predeceased by his sister Ellen.

A Private Family Funeral will be held on Wednesday February 10th at 11:00 am at Thompson Funeral Home in Aurora, Ontario. An interment will be held at a later date at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Memorial donations in memory of Hugh may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Hugh was born in Falkirk, Scotland, son of Hugh McAllister and Mary Hogan. Hugh moved to Toronto, Ontario in 1962 without a job, a one-way ticket, and a hope for a promising future. He was a chemist by trade, started his own company and later went on to work for Canada Colors and Chemicals where he made many friendships that carried him through for the rest of his life.

He was a strong presence in any company he kept, well-travelled, and an intellect full of knowledge whether it be politics, history, current events, or simple everyday conversation. He was indeed a fantastic storyteller who loved fine wine, good food, golfing, and laughter among many other things. He will leave a great void in all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. We will reflect and remember that without love, there would be no tears, but who would choose to live their lives without love.

The family would like to thank you all for your support during this most difficult time.
