RUSSELL, Robert William 'Bob' - Two tired eyes are sleeping, two willing hands are still. For one who suffered far too much, is resting in God’s will. You never said goodbye to us, perhaps it’s just as well, We never could have said goodbye to one we loved so well.
Heaven gained another angel with the passing of Robert William Russell. Big Bob as he was known to many passed peacefully in hospital February 5, 2021, after a 13 month battle with cancer.
He was welcomed by his son Steven in heaven.
He will be forever missed by his loving wife of 60 years, Freda, all of her brothers and sisters and their children, his brother Jim, his son Mike, daughter in law Andrea and grand daughters Meagan, Lindsey and Caitlyn and countless friends.
Bob will always be with us. He was the first to lend a hand to anyone who needed one. He loved watching and playing most sports with the exception of basketball. He could be found on a ball diamond, an ice rink, a golf course, a curling sheet and loved swimming and diving. He loved watching and talking sports, loved all family dinners and get togethers whether at a cottage or at a house and thoroughly liked getting together for Christmas breakfast to open presents with the grandkids.
He taught us how to treat people, how to be persistent and how to work hard and to fight to provide for those we love.
Bob is at peace now. He was 78 years old when he passed.
Don't remember me with sadness, don't remember with tears, remember all the laughter we've shared throughout the years. Now I am contented that my life it was worthwhile, knowing that I passed along the way I made somebody smile. When you are walking down the street and you've got me on your mind, I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind. So please don't be unhappy just because I'm out of sight. Remember that I'm with you each morning, noon and night.
Arrangements entrusted with Giffen-Mack funeral home, Scarborough chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held once social gatherings are once again permitted.
